I was wondering if you had any experiences with the english part of the ACT test. About 3 hours ago, I took a pratice test on the english part of it, and got like 20/35. That's like 57% right.
I want to know how to tackle those sections where they have a sentence, and part of it is underlined. I also thought that I was good with that part, but I guess not.
Do you have any tips in that part of the test? I only answered about half the questions and wanted to see how many I missed. I missed alot!

I don't have experience with the ACT -- but I think I know what kind of questions these are. The test asks you what is wrong with the underlined parts.
If you copy a few of the questions you didn't know, we'll be glad to steer you toward some good resources.
Often these questions have to do with pronoun/antecedent agreement, subject/verb agreement, and wrong verb forms.

Here is one that I missed:
For some people, traditional American Indian music is assoicated and connected with high penetrating vocals accompanied by a steady drumbeat.
A. NO CHANGE
B. connected by some of them
C. linked by association
D. associated
They said the answer was D
I put A

    Ah -- that's a misspelled word.
If you read each word carefully, you'd probably realized that the word couldn't be spelled that way.

associated and connected are redundant... so is linked by association. All that is needed is D.

Ah, so if two words that mean the same thing are next to each other, only one is needed?
So either associated or connected could be taken out if that was an answer choice?

Ahh, I see. I'm kind of stressed over this test. I have to find a way to apply all of these "rules" when I'm taking this test.
