If sin (theta) = sqrt5 / 3 and cos (theta) = 2 / 3 which of the following is tan (theta)?

for this kind of problem, draw the right triangle.

cosθ = 2/3
means that the adjacent side is 2 and the hypotenuse is 3.

sinθ = √5/3
means that the opposite side is √5 and the hypotenuse is 3.

But, then you knew that already, since the opposite side would be
√(3^2-2^2) = √5

Si, since tanθ = opposite/adjacent, you have Damon's result.

Now it's time to review the basic trig functions, and then this kind of problem will be easy from now on!

Actually I just used the trig identity tan = sin/cos
