How many different rectangular prisms can you make
with volume 24 cm3?
Sketch each prism you find.
Label each sketch with the dimensions.
How do you know the prisms are different?

I assume mean prisms with integer sides.
factors of 24: 1,2,3,4,6,8,12,24
So, you can have prisms
1x1x24
1x2x12
1x3x8
1x4x6
2x2x6
2x3x4
factors of 24: 1,2,3,4,6,8,12,24

1x1x24
1x2x12

2x2x6
2x3x4

well...
- there are 8 factors of 24(1,2,3,4,6,8,12,24) so there can be 8 different lengths
- you can make 1 shape with '1'
- you can make 1 shape with '2'
- you can make 2 shapes with '3'
- you can make 7 shapes with '4'
- you can make 35 shapes with '6'
- you can make 2,725 shapes with '8'
- you can make 63,600 shapes with '12"
so you can make a lot in theory

here are 8 factors of 24(1,2,3,4,6,8,12,24)
different shapes mean that the length is different.
1*1*1 2*2*2 3*3*3 4*4*4 6*6*6 8*8*8
12*12*12 24*24*24
there 3 side
8*3=24
there 24 ways.
It's different because the length is different.
