Can you please explain how you get to x=0.707q.
I got how you got up to -q+sgrt2*X=0 but i keep coming up with a different answer than 0.707q.
The answer 0.707q is correct but I am still not understanding how to get to that answer.
I have another problem just like this one but with different values for q. When I use the formula above I am coming up with an incorrect answer. Please help. My question is:
A charge of +1q is fixed to one corner of a square, while a charge of -3q is fixed to the diagonally opposite corner. Expressed in terms of q, what charge should be fixed to the center of the square, so the potential is zero at each of the two empty corners?

I am so confused! Can you please define "cross product". I interpret it to mean that you multiply the value of V and B. Obviously this is incorrect.

I got the value of V from the equation for KE
KE = 1/2m V^2
2.10x10^-5 J = 1/2(9.11x10^-31)V^2
(2.10x10^-5)/(4.555x10^-31) = V^2
4.610318x10^25 = V^2
6.789932x10^12 = V

To do this problem you need to know is that 1 yd = 36 inches.
Convert 5/8 and 3/4 to a decimal. This will make it easier for you to see the answer.
Again, convert the fraction part of the question to a decimal and add them all together.

it is a four sided where 16 is replaced by c=24 and d=20,e=24,f=28. It goes and on and ask to find the unknown side lenghts if c=24. Each measure is in centimeter. Express your answers in decimals. That is the whole question.
This on is pretty easy, you just have to create 2 equations base on the problem.

Y = Brenda
X+8 =Y
Y+8 =X
X=Y-8
Y+8=2(Y-8)
Y+8=2Y-16
Y-2Y=-16-8
-Y=-24
Y=-24/-1
Y=24
X=Y-8
X=24-8
X=16

Qp = (P CO)^2 (P O2) / (P CO2)^2 = (0.00197)^2 (0.0296) / (0.118)^2 = 8.3 x 10^-6 which is much greater than Kp = 1 x 10^-13. Since Qp > Kp, the reaction will go back to the left (make more CO2). Adding a catalyst does not change the amount of CO produced, only how fast it is produced.

To estimate you must look at the numbers after the decimal point. In the first number the tenths place is 7. When you estimate you must look at the number to the right. The number to the rightof the 7 is 1. Since 1 is smaller than 5 you make the number 7. If the number to the right was 5 or bigger you would round it to 8. to round 5.891 you woulmake it 5.9. Now the problem becomes 9.7-5.9
