Just use the good old chain rule.

f = (x<sup>3</sup>-8)<sup>2/3</sup>

f' = 2/3 * (x<sup>3</sup>-8)<sup>-1/3</sup> * 3x<sup>2</sup>

f' = 2x<sup>2</sup>/(x<sup>3</sup>-8)<sup>1/3</sup>
