d/dx 5x = 5
since the power rule tells you that d/dx x^n = n x^(n-1)
so d/dx x^1 = 1*x^0 = 1
since differentiation is a linear operator, d/dx 5x = 5 * d/dx x = 5*1 = 5
or, the product rule tells you that
d/dx 5x = (d dx 5) * x + 5*(d/dx x) = 0 + 5 = 5
since the power rule tells you that d/dx x^n = n x^(n-1)
so d/dx x^1 = 1*x^0 = 1
since differentiation is a linear operator, d/dx 5x = 5 * d/dx x = 5*1 = 5
or, the product rule tells you that
d/dx 5x = (d dx 5) * x + 5*(d/dx x) = 0 + 5 = 5
