Revise this sentence. Can you help me? I'm having trouble with the subject and verb. Plato was born around 428 B.C. His family was part of the Roman aristocracy. Many of his family members were active in politics. But Plato consciously resisted ever becoming a statesman himself.

One sentence? Certainly not one phrase. And I don't think Plato ever visited Rome. Where was he from?
