(x-(a-b))(x-a)(x-(a+b))
= x^3 - 3ax^2 + (3a^2-b^2)x + ab^2-a^3
If that is identical to x^3-3x^2+x+1 then
-3a = -3
3a^2-b^2 = 1
ab^2-a^3 = 1

a=1 b=±√2
