15 oz * 28.35g/oz * 1kg/1000g = 0.425 kg
note how the units cancel, just like common factors

okay, thanks! can you also look at this one for me? I'm having trouble getting the right answer.
4 kg to oz.
1 oz = 28.35 g
1g = 1000 kg
4kg x 28.35 g/ 1oz = 113.4 g
113. 4 g x 1 oz / 1000kg = 0.11 oz
The answer is supposed to be 141 oz
4 kg to oz.
1 oz = 28.35 g
1g = 1000 kg
4kg x 28.35 g/ 1oz = 113.4 g
113. 4 g x 1 oz / 1000kg = 0.11 oz
The answer is supposed to be 141 oz

gotta make the units cancel.
kg*g/oz makes no sense
kg * g/kg * oz/g = oz
4kg * 1000g/1kg * 1oz/28.35g = 141 oz
kg*g/oz makes no sense
kg * g/kg * oz/g = oz
4kg * 1000g/1kg * 1oz/28.35g = 141 oz

what you are doing is multiplying by 1, which does not alter the value
1oz = 28.35g, so
1oz/28.35g = 1
28.35g/1oz = 1
which one you use determines which units cancel
1oz = 28.35g, so
1oz/28.35g = 1
28.35g/1oz = 1
which one you use determines which units cancel
