How many pounds of candy selling for $2.25 a pound should be added to four pounds of candy selling for $4 a pound to create a blend, which will sell for $3.25 a pound?

amount to be added --- x pounds
2.25x + 4(4) = 3.25(4+x)
2.25x + 16 = 13 + 3.25x
3 = x
3 pounds of the cheaper candy should be added
