15 FULL CUPS AND 22 HALF CUPS

You should check your "caps lock" key, it appears to be stuck.

number of 1/2 cups ---- x
number of whole cups --- 37-x

25x + 50(37-x) = 1500
25x + 1850 - 50x = 1500
-25x = -350
x = 14

etc

Lena,did you not check your answer?
It does not work, mine does.

Always check your results by testing them for the original conditions
14(.25) + 22(.50) ≠ $15.00

You guys are both wrong. 14 half cups and 23 full cups.
14 x .25 = $3.50
23 x .50 = $11.50

This equals $15.00 total.
