I think you mean
sin x/(cos x + 1) + (cos x-1)/sin x = 0
multiply both sides by sin x (cos x+1)
sin^2x + (cos x-1)(cos x+1)= 0
sin^2 x + cos^2 x - 1 = 0
but we know sin^2 x+cos^2 x = 1
1 - 1 = 0
sin x/(cos x + 1) + (cos x-1)/sin x = 0
multiply both sides by sin x (cos x+1)
sin^2x + (cos x-1)(cos x+1)= 0
sin^2 x + cos^2 x - 1 = 0
but we know sin^2 x+cos^2 x = 1
1 - 1 = 0
