What is the axis of symmetry for the function? y = x^2 + 3x - 4

x= -1.5

Before you post more of these, just remember that the axis of symmetry is x = -b/2a

This comes right from the quadratic formula:

x = [-b +/- sqrt(b^2-4ac)]/2a
= -b/2a +/- sqrt(b^2-4ac)/2a

The roots are symmetrically located around the line x = -b/2a
