Do you mean with parentheses like this?
lim (3x^2 + 7x -2) / (3x^2 - 4x + 2)
x--> 1
If so, nothing singular happens as x --->1. You can just put in x = 1
(3+7 -2)/(3-4+2) = 8/1 = 8
lim (3x^2 + 7x -2) / (3x^2 - 4x + 2)

Maybe you mean as x goes to infinity?
Then the x^2 terms would dominate both top and bottom and you would have 3 huge^2/3 huge^2 which is one
