This is a basic mathmatics problem but sounds more difficult.
Draw a picture of the trail from start to finish and add and subtract on the way. What is your total distance if you travel 100m and then travel 35m more?
Then, if you have traveled 100m and traveled back 35 that is subtraction of those two numbers. That is your displacement.
