Why is it that the most effective way to humiliate a man is to make him look or act like a woman, or accuse him of looking or acting like a woman?!
Does the reverse hold true? Would it be demeaning for a woman to act as a man?

Under most circumstances -- no. Women have been wearing pants and cutting their hair short for generations. They've worked to succeed in traditional male occupations.
In most cultures, the social status of men is higher than that of women. Would you feel it demeaning to be accused of behaving like someone of superior status?

I can't imagine many women taking it as a compliment to be told, "You walk very manly" or "your face is so masculine."
Face it. Women want to be feminine. Men want to be masculine. There's no shame in embracing your gender and wanting to be associated with it. That's perfectly natural, regardless of what new age PC people say.
