Can someone provide a link to ancient Gothic music? I need to describe the music from this era.

Oh well I cannot provide you to a link but I can tell you that it is hymns. Considering that Gothic cathedrals were very ornate in nature they are I believe roman catholic or catholic at the very least. So start looking up some hymns, and these hymns were known to be spiritual but they were not up-beat. I have heard a very interesting point made by a comedian that hymns were very dreary born out of 'decent' treatment whereas gospel which is happy and up beat comes from slavery and pain.

You should be able to go into these different albums (choose John Dowland's works) and listen to parts of various tracks on each CD. You don't have to buy anything, but his work will give you a good idea of the sound.
