I need a metaphor for extreme joy, repugnance, clarity, confusion, excitement, contentment, and optimism. For smallness i have she was a spider, unnoticed by all, spinning her web among the endless, towering redwoods

Your smallness metaphor is very good!
To make equally good metaphors for your other words, think, first of how that feels, then think of things that have that kind of feeling, or represent that kind of feeling.
For instance for clarity, I thought, a flashbulb, a full moon, lightning, cleaning my glasses, lightning bugs. the word A ha!
Please repost when you have written the other metaphors.

She was in a maze that kept doubling up and ending in dead ends.
