Directions: Using inverses simplify the expression.

5^log5x

I know that the answer is x but i have no idea how...

5^log5x means 5 to the power: log(base5) x. Log(5)x is the number which, when raised as a power of 5, gives x.

Since that is exactly what you are doing when you compute 5^log(5)x , the answer is x.
