m = tan θ = ( y2 - y1 ) / ( x2 - x1 )

In this case.

x1 = - 6 , y1 = - 13 , x2 = 3 , y2 = -1

m = ( y2 - y1 ) / ( x2 - x1 ) =

[ ( - 1 ) - ( - 13 ) ] / [ 3 - ( - 6 ) ] =

( - 1 + 13 ) / ( 3 + 6 ) =

12 / 9 = 3 ∙ 4 / 3 ∙ 3 = 4 / 3
