John walks 15 paces north, then 12 paces east, followed by 3 paces south. draw the vector for John's movements and find the resultant vector. show your steps.

this is the only Information I got from my teacher so don't ask me for more info

well, apparently you have been taught something about vectors. They have both length and direction. I assume you know the compass directions.
Draw the three vectors given, starting each where the previous one ends.
The resultant is a vector which starts where the first one started, and ends where the last one ended.

To visualize this, get out some graph paper. Pick a starting point, and move your finger in the indicated directions, for the given number of squares. Draw lines where your finger moved. Those are the vectors.

sqrt (12^2 + 12^2) = 12 sqrt 2 the hypotenuse of that triangle you drew.
