Question

The sum of the squares of the lengths of both legs is the same as the square of the length of the hypotenuse.
Can someone explain this to me it doesn't make sense the way its worded

this is the Pythagorean Theorem

if "c" is the hypotenuse of a right triangle, with "a" and "b" as the other 2 sides
