    I'll do the second one for you.
y=mx+b
-1=3(-5)+b
-1=-15+b
14=b
y=3x+14
Basically, I'm just substituting in the formula y=mx=b.
I hope I explained this well enough for you. I'm also in eighth grade and I was confused about this a few weeks ago.
