After t/2 seconds it has travelled a quarter of the total distance.

ht=12g.t2

Where ht is the total height and g is the acceleration due to gravity.

After t2 seconds :

ht2=12g(t2)2

=g(t2)8

So ht=4ht12

So you can see that after half the time it has travelled a quarter of the distance.
