I think the answer to 9# on the test is a area of 64. Try to add up all of the numbers for the rectangle of the composite figure. And I think the answer to number 10# is a area of 27. Once again, try to add up the numbers. If it is not correct, please don't blame me, I think this is the answer and I am trying to help all of the students who need help on this test. -Warrior Cat Lover:)

Hi
How are you guys stuck on question 9 and 10? We did lessons on both of these equations.
Question 9 is all about finding the area of a trapezoid.
Question 10 is all about finding the area of a composite object.
In Connections Academy there are lessons about both of these equations, go back and figure out why you don't know. If you are still confused ask a teacher for help, or get a tutor. Please take my advice and don't be lazy and just ask for help because you "don't know". Figure it out, you guys are smart.

To help you guys. You do not multiply or add all the sides together. For first one add 5 and 4 divide 2 then mutliply by 11
For second one:
Rectangle: Multiply 17 by 22
For triangle: subtract 10 from 22 then multiply the answer you got by 19 Finally divide that by 2
I know this helps
You can thank me later

So, first, you decompose the trapezoid into easier shapes, in this case, a rectangle and a triangle. So that is 8x4 for the rectangle, and 1/2x3x4 for the triangle. So now you just multiply those; [8x4=32;1/2x3x4=6]. Now that you have the answers to the rectangle and triangle, just add them together. 32+6=38, so the answer is 38 in. squared.
