You are right on the first one here, wrong on the second one. The Alien and Sedition Acts were under John Adams' administration, not Jefferson's.

You are correct on the first one. You have checked two answers for the second. It can't be both. Hint: Louisiana was purchased from France in 1803, when Thomas Jefferson was president. When was Marbury v. Madison decided?
Answered by
Aaliyah
1803
Answered by
Reed
You're right. But it had nothing to do with purchase of territory. It established the principle of judicial review of laws.

So it is not B?
Answered by
Reed
It's not B! Napoleon needed money and he wasn't very concerned with "New World" affairs. He was busy trying to conquer Europe.

Okay I got the answer thanks can you help me with the other one I got wrong, the alien acts
Answered by
Reed
Okay, Adams was president when those acts were made into law. He was a "Federalist". Jefferson succeeded him in 1801. The acts had nothing to do with Jefferson. They were to protect the government from criticism, which was thought to be a threat to security.
