4 x^2 + 2 x - 2 = 0

2 ( 2 x^2 + x - 1) = 0

(2x-1)(x+1) = 0
x = 1/2 or -1

5 x^2 + 34 x - 7 = 0

(5x-1)(x+7) = 0
etc
