so a vs t will be a straight line through the x axis? what about v vs t? in x vs t, is it a positive or negative slope?
does that mean it will just be a graph on an x-y plane??
Yes.
How can I start?
Using the half-reaction method, write a balanced chemical equation for the electrochemical cell
okay what about the others?
Ksp=produts molarity/reatants molarity
how can i find the activity coefficients?
is the concentration from the ionic strength value or from the molarity of ions?
How about the activities, how do I solve those?
Actually, i'm kind of second guessing your post. It doesn't look right to me. I just can't point my finger at it....
Whatttt? Thanks!
Nevermind I got it
i didnt mean to post that ^ twice....
What do you mean by reaching the first equilibrium point? Can I just plug the number I get by subtracting 4.07 from 14 into the HH equation?
0.00250 mol H2NCH2CH2NH2 0.001875 mol HCl =0.000625 mol H2NCH2CH2 excess now what? What do I plug into the HH equation?
Thank you, I still have a few more parts related to this specific problem. Do you want me to add onto this forum or start a new question for each part?
i'm still confused though. Wouldn't you multiply L of ethylenediamine by its M before plugging that into the ICE table?
Okay, so I got a pH of 11.7, is that correct?
So that means it would be neutral only if there was an equal amount of both NaOH and HClO4, correct?
i dont understand where to start though
nevermind, i got it. now the second part, how do i start?
what is the total volume that i should use. which value given?
Ok Thanks!
Okay, now I understand. So is my answer's correct?
This is what I got: 20.00 mL / 1000 mL * 1.00 mol = 0.0200 mol HCl (initially added) 29.50 mL / 1000 mL * 0.495 mol + 0.0146 mol NaOH (used) 0.0200 mol HCl - 0.0146 mol NaOH = 0.0054 mol HCl (used) 0.0054 mol HCl / 2 mol HCl * 58.33 g * 1000 mg = 160 mg
Why are we dividing mols HCl by 2?
Isn't there supposed to be an equilibrium arrow in the chemical equation?
It will only have one significant figure. Therefore it will be 60
Your answer will contain 1 significant figures. That will be 0.3
