What would be the missing piece of information given the following information:
Find the slope of the line that passes through the points (2, 6) and (4, 10).
m = ?
a. 2
b.6
c. 1
d. 9
I think it is c.
Remeber the definition of a slope. It is the change in y divided by the change in x. You have 2 points...the point (2,6), and the point (4,10). In the first point, the y value is 6, and in the second point, the y value is 10. So, how much has y changed? And then do the same for x. Then figure out the slope!
is the formula:y2-y1/x2-x1
Yes!!!
That's right...
Now can you help me w/ my other problem?
which one?
the one above this one
The question above this one is the same question...it's repeated.
No the one above that one!
Ok...see my response to above!
y = 2x + ?
You know it passes through (2,6), so x is 2 and y is 6. Just substitute those in the equation:
6 = 2(2) + ?
