C is correct. A photo or a video tape is a representation of the object, not the object itself. All four are very useful, however, in that sometimes there is no object to represent an idea.
And do keep in mind that if, for example, you are demonstrating how to husk corn to a large auditorium or lecture hall, a video on a large screen might be more effective than a small ear of corn in your hand when the people in the back of the room might need binoculars to see what you're doing.
