I assume you need someone whose last name begins with I, not the first name. There are very few. There are some public figures around today, Senator James Inhofe of Oklahoma, the actress Judith Ivey, actress Dana Ivey (not related), former Congressman Daryl Issa of California. In history, there is the Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen, American playwright William Inge, 19th century author and lecturer Robert Ingersoll, Senator Daniel Inouye of Hawaii, author Christopher Isherwood, Laura Ingalls Wilder (Ingalls was her maiden name), the "Little House" author. I can't think of any others. There's my cousin Tom Ibbotson, but he's not famous or a hero to anyone but his wife and children! (Nice guy, though!)
