At school, there should be pharmacy bottles with the prescription, doseage, doctor's name, etc. Pharmacies are willing to prepare extra medication to have at school. Often there is no school nurse any more so it would be in the main office.
Of course, it depends upon the medicine your child has. For example, I had a student with epilepsy, grand mal seizures. The counseling office was aware of that and warned all the teachers. When she had an episode I knew what to do for her.
