216/24 = ?
1) The first part of the of the problem means that for every 10 gallons of gas, you can drive 240 miles.
2) You can make a ratio where 240mi/10gal = 216mi/Xgal.
3)Then cross multiply to get 240X=2160.
4) X = 9gal
my answer is 5554 gallons

i found out it was 24 miles per gallon and divided 216 and 24 then multiplied the answer by 24 and i got

(216/24)=(9 x 24)= 216
so the mathematical answer is 9
I am still stumped on this question... What should I divide 216 by?
