The village smithy stands;
The smith, a mighty man is he,
With large and sinewy hands;

Are strong as iron bands.
His hair is crisp, and black, and long,
His face is like the tan;
His brow is wet with honest sweat,
He earns whate’er he can,
And looks the whole world in the face,
For he owes not any man.
Week in, week out, from morn till night,

Like a sexton ringing the village bell,
When the evening sun is low.

Onomatopoeia is reproducing sounds from the nature like saying splash for describing water sounds or woof to describe dogs. Alliteration is repeating the first consonant in successive words such as saying Blue bug is being bad. Repetition is pretty self explanatory. These sound devices can change the mood by creating a more vivid image and awakening feelings. For example, Poe claimed that the sound "or" is the most ominous sound in the English language which is why he repeated it many times throughout his poem the Raven. Old epic poems such as Beowulf have a lot of alliteration so as to make it easier for the bard to sing them.

but ill try to do that when I'm done taking the test
1. Post the questions AND answer choices for each question, as teachers may get even smarter and start switching questions around. They already move the answers around, and they won't stop there.
2. Don't make such a long chain of "These are the REAL answers." Then you do a whole " A, C, D, E," wth. Nobody will understand that the answers changed when teachers switched them around. And it can be hard to read/review.
3. Also- Might we stop commenting on something that's 5 years old? Please? It took a while to read ALLLL the comments.
