can't do pictures, let me describe the image. A big black square on the bottom left represents the weight, the pulley attached with a rope to the weight.
The pulley is being pulled down.
or actually not sure if it is being pulled down, because the other side (the right side, the other side of the pulley with the rope, just sitting there , because on the left side the rope attaches to the weight. Anyways, next to the rope hanging low on the right side there is a word that says "force" with an arrow pointing down
The force in the rope is the tension you put in it.
If the rope is headed UP from the block, then the block is forced UP.
The rope is pulling with 2*F down on the block though :)
oh ok
Ropes can not push as a rule, they only pull :)
(and in my world we call ropes "lines" .)
But I understand, the answer was right. Could you help me with another question? Just one more? NO pictures involved.
Always ask a new question as a new question. Do not tack it on an old one or no one might see it.
Ok, here it is:

which of the following is an example of kinetic energy?
A a lamp sitting on a table
B a rubber band streched out
C a bowling ball rolling down a bowling lane
D building blocks stacked up down
(1/2) m v^2
requires a velocity v
only one of those choices is moving.
so c?
Please, is it C?
yes it's c
