Solve for:

(2y^0.75)/(25x^0.75)=(12x^0.25)/(100y^0.25)

The answer is y=3/2 x
But how do we get there? How can we eliminate all that powers in one shot?

just add/subtract exponents as usual: (x^a)(x^b) = x^(a+b)
(2y^0.75)/(25x^0.75)=(12x^0.25)/(100y^0.25)
(2y^0.75)(100y^0.25)=(12x^0.25)(25x^0.75)
200y^1 = 300x^1
y = 3/2 x
