Mr.Williams bought 30 muffins and pies. Each muffin cost 2.50 dollars and each pie cost 4.50$. The pies cost 9$ more than the muffins. How many of each item did he buy?

First divide it by 2 next,there is a $9 difference so it’s 2 pies, We Minus One from…..

I Am Very Sorry I see Now I made a mistake when Doing the $9 difference. I’ll explain later :(
number of pies --- x
number of muffins = 30-x , since the total is 30

cost of pies = 4.5x
cost of muffins = 2.5(30-x)

4.5x - 2.5(30-x) = 9 , the difference in the cost is 9
4.5x - 75 + 2.5x = 9
7x = 84
x = 12

so he bought 12 pies and 18 muffins
