how many moles of HCl will be produced when 30g of H2O are reacted according to the chemical equation 2AlCl3 + 3H2O -> Al2O3 + 6HCl? (molar masses are H2o=18.015g and HCl=36>46g)

1 answer

All of the stoichiometry problem are worked alike.
1. Write and balanced equation which you have.
2. Convert 30 g H2O to mols. mol = grams/molar mass
3. Using the coefficients in the balanced equation, convert mols H2O to mols or the product.
4. Now convert mols product to grams. g = mols x molar mass.
