how do you solve for n?

for example...
14=(1.4)^n

how do you solve exp. ?

1 answer

Take logs of both sides. I'll use logs to base 10, but it doesn't matter what base is used as long as it is consistent.

log 14 = n log 1.4
n = log 14/log 1.4 = 1.14613/.14613 = 7.843
