Our tutor for languages recommends that students DO NOT depend on any websites to help with learning foreign languages -- especially not translators.

I'll email your question to her, and she will be better able to give you suggestions.
Actually, the best way to learn is to post your homework questions here and someone will forward them to me. Be sure you have a good French--->English/English--->French dictionary. A good way to use the dictionary is this:
1. write down the English word you want in French.
2. look it up and write down ALL the French possibilities.
3. Now, take each French word and look it up for the primary meaning in English. You will find many surprises.
4. Always consider the "context" or exactly how the word is used and avoid slang!

Keep a "hit list" of the errors you make so you don't keep making the same errors.

Always use the words you have studied and accept the fact that sometimes you can not say exactly what you want to say in your native language, let alone in a foreign language!

Feel free to let me know what you are studying so I'll know better how to help you, and the Level of French you are in.
