Could someone help me interpret this poem?Thanks

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leafs a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
-Robert Frost

All I can interpret is that it saying something that is perfect or at the best/purest form won't last forever.

It must be spring but when the bud opens, it doesn't last long. There are more and more leaves that depress one, because the seasons are changing. As day becomes night, nothing can stay the same.

You are on the right track.
