Can someone check to make sure my answer is correct? The question is: Which of the following statements is incorrect?
a. Complete combustion has occured when all the carbon in the product is in the form of carbon dioxide.
b. A single reactant is the identifying characteristic of a decomposition reaction.
c. The only way to determine the products of a reaction is to perform the reaction.
d. All chemical reactions can be classified as one of four general types.
I believe the answer is d. Thanks

I don't believe d is true (especially for reactions in organic chemistry and the question says ALL). Also, I don't believe a is true because I can have C8H16NClO7 and convert all of the C to CO2 without convert the other elements (and that's a made-up out of the blue formula).
I thought it was between c & d & I thought d, but I guess it must be c, you would have to perform the reaction to determine the products. I think that question was a little tricky.
A bit vague. I don't think it's a good question. Other tutors may disagree with my answer.
Thanks again for your help
