Can kinetic energy be transferred to potential energy?
- grade 4.
2 answers
yes
jump up
speed up leaving ground = v
How high do you go?
Ke = (1/2) m v^2
Pe = m g h
Ke at ground = Pe at top :)
You converted your ground speed to height potential energy. Now if you fall you will convert your height potential energy to kinetic energy. Of course when you hit the ground you convert the kinetic energy to heat unless you are very bouncy.
