Calculate the mass of CaCl2 formed when 5 moles of chlorine reacts with chlorine metal?

14 answers

well, you'll use up 2.5 moles of Ca, right?
So add up the molar mass of 2.5Ca + 5Cl
Ca + Cl₂ => CaCl₂ is a 1 to 1 reaction ratio => 5 moles Cl₂ would then require 5 moles Ca.
Oops. My bad. Forgot to note that it's Cl2, not just Cl.
