a)How much work is required to lift a 35-kg object from the ground 3.0 m into the air?

b) How much gravitational potential energy did this object gain?

19 answers

35 * g = weight
weight * distance raised = work in

which is exactly the increase in potential energy
So 35 x 9.8 = 343 N

343 x 3.0 = 1029 J

Is that the answer to A or B, I'm a bit confused
yes.
or yes, yes :)
yes as in for A) or yes as in for B) o_O
That's what I'm thinking..
Just for clarity; yes for A and yes for B.
343 N for A and 1029 J for B
343 N for B and 1029 J for A
cxzx
But where did you guys get the 9.8 from?
Fg=M x g Is that right cause i am doing a test
=35 kg x 9.8N
=343N

343 x 3.0=1029J
Not right now but it is on a review sheet for the test and the test is tomorrow
So does a)343N and b)1029J
?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I figured it out thx for the help u guys
IS 343N A AND 1029J B IM VERY CONFUSED
lol, we have this on a review sheet Aswell. how students from different years been answering this is just hilarious.
same and it for A)
crazy
