There are two sentences that vary only by one word difference. Sentences: The young girl wrote a short note to her mother. The young girl sent a short note to her mother. My Answer: Girl sent/wrote Note ---to Mother -the -a -her -young -short The structur...

Girl (the, young), sent/wrote, Note (a, short), preposition, Mother (her)

Is there any difference? I don't know if its a trick question or if I really have two questions that are the same.

I also need help with figuring how to draw certain things like the 'of' and 'on' in the first sentence.

I got: non, de, compose, able, ity. Is that correct?

What is entailment in semantics? List three words (not necessarily related to each other) that evidence entailment and say what meanings each word entails. Can you explain the 3 words part of this question. Three random words?

If com and pos can be separated just like able and ity, shouldn't I separate them now? I know com is a prefix but I didn't know pos is a root.

I think I got it. The simple sentence phrase rule is used to combine compound sentences. Is this correct?

I mean the phrase rule sentence=Noun phrase, aux, verb phrase That is the phrase structural rule. I understand what you wrote but I can't connect it with what am trying to figure out. Can you please explain?

Woops, wrong problem. The problem I need help is actually: Q: Is it possible to solve the equation y'=(xy)/(cosx) for y(0)=1? Sorry about that!

My problem was that I didn't understand that they wanted me to plot the positive AND the negative x values (hence why they labeled them +/-)to form the parabola. Thank you for your help!

I wrote the first problem incorrectly. It's supposed to be 5x^2 - 526 = -651 I apologize.

Thank you. Also thanks for correcting the "whether" VS. "weather" mistake. I always have trouble with that. :)

Y values: -2, -1, 0, 1. Right? I'm not sure why I had so much trouble with this. I think I was making a minor mistake in my calculations that set everything off. Thanks for your help.

I have a question. #3: On my calculator, √28 + √63 + √175 = 6.06, but 10√7 = 26.5. Shouldn't they = the same number? As for #5.. I'm not really sure, tbh. I tried that problem a while a go and I'm not quite sure where I was going with it.
Well, I entered in the calculator √28 + √63 + √175 and got 6.06. I just entered the expression. I didn't take the sq roots first.

I have a couple questions about # 1. Why can't it be a^2 + B^2 = c^2? I think that's what I'm taught in class. Also, if you square everything, isn't still going to come out the same? If you do something to the entire expression, it doesn't change the valu...

For #1: When I get √(9y - 196) = -7 can I square each side to get 9y - 196 = 49? Then I can add 196 to both sides. It cancels out on the left side and I have 9y = 245. Then I can divide both sides by 9. I would get y = 27.2. Would that be correct?

You say that I can't use a^2 + b^2 = c^2, but that formula is called the Pythagorean theorem. I was instructed to use that formula. Am I misunderstanding what you're saying?

# 2: * I need to find the length of a (the short leg), the length of b, and the length of the hypotenuse.

For the first one, I can kinda see how I could factor v^2 + v - 12.. Would it look something like 2(v -6)? Which is like the numerator on the other side.

In the last one, I tried just cancelling out factors and got 2m^2/12m^3? Is that close, or no?

No... I'm confused. Is this going to be useful later in life?
