Find the slope and the y intercept of the following linear equation:
x + 4y = -4

First re-arrange it into slope intercept form: y = mx + b

x + 4y = -4
4y = -x - 4
y = -x/4 - 1
y = (-1/4)x - 1

Therefore the slope is -1/4 and the y-intercept is -1
