Hideki is collecting pennies . Each month in may, june, and july he put 200 pennies in a jug . He put 300 pennies in th jug in August and 300 in September. How many pennies did Hideki put in the jug between May and September ?

(3 * 200) + (2 * 300) = 1200 pennies

500 if they mean between May(200) + Sept. (300) = 500. Common Core stinks!!
