In the book it says:

could I not also say:
ce livre est le tienne
or
instead of: ce livre est à vous
ce livre est le vôtre

Thank you for using the Jiskha Homework Help Forum. Absoluement! (Except be sure the 4th sentence is "ce livre est le tien" because le livre is masculine singular. Either way and you could also say: C'est ton livre / C'est votre livre. The decision to make is 1) do you want a Disjunctive Pronoun (à toi), a possessive pronoun (le tien) or a possesive adjective (ton.)
