At face value, it sounds as if there are five people in the park -- counting both boys and girls.
If you want to state the exact numbers of each, you'd say, "There are five boys and six girls in the park." (or whatever numbers you have in mind)
If you want one to be exact and the other not to be, you'd say, "There are five boys and many more girls in the park."
A: How many boys and girls are there in the park?
B: There are five boys and girls in the park.

Does it mean that there are only 5 people including boys and girls? Or does it mean that there are 10 people; 5 boys and 5 girls?
Or does it mean that there are 5 boys and many girls whose number is unknown?
